Fancy a drive with your friends in a car designed by Marcello Gandini? In a Lamborghini Miura or Countach, that might be a little complicated… This Maserati has other ideas.

With four proper seats and finished in the particularly elegant combination of Sebring Blue over beige Connolly leather, this Quattroporte IV Evoluzione offers a rare and distinguished way to experience the work of one of Italy’s greatest automotive designers.

Penned by Gandini, the Quattroporte IV is low, compact and beautifully proportioned. A single, clean line emerges from the low front end and extends almost uninterrupted towards the high rear, creating the distinctive wedge-shaped profile that defines the car. Elegant in its proportions, the design carries a surprising sense of movement for a four-door saloon.

The slashed rear wheel arches are another characteristic Gandini signature, also found on the Lamborghini Countach and Diablo, as well as the Maserati Shamal. On the Quattroporte, the shape also served a practical purpose, allowing for longer rear doors and easier access to the rear seats — form serving function.

Introduced in 1998, the Evoluzione represented the final and most developed expression of the Quattroporte IV. Its 2.8-litre twin-turbo V6 produces 284 hp, delivering genuine performance and character in a four-door Italian saloon.

More than twenty-five years later, the Quattroporte IV remains one of the lesser-known chapters in Gandini’s career — and a true Italian soul still waiting to be discovered.
